Burgess - Exposed Grids

BG-exposedgrid-rightgraphicExposed Grids Tegular
Combining the ease of installation afforded by interlocking grid systems with the manufactured accuracy and durability of press formed tiles, the Burgess A P Tegular System provides an economic solution to many ceiling requirements.

The system creates a modular arrangement with the tiles laying into the chosen grid, access to services is gained by simply lifting the tiles into the void space. A number of acoustic requirements can be met with the introduction of an acoustic inlay in the back of a perforated tile.
Standard 15mm or 24mm lay-in grid systems are utilised and a number of the most popular tile sizes are held in stock. Several depths of tile edge are available, giving the specifier the opportunity to create different emphasis to grid lines.

    Stability of interlocking exposed grid.
    Easy lift-up access to void.
    Clean, modular ceiling appearence.
    Durable, washable, smooth polyester coating.
Most popular sizes available from stock.
    Lights and grilles easily intergrated.
    1/2 hour fire rating assessment.
Class 1 and Class 0 Surface Spread of Flame.
Sound absorption NRC of 0.95 achieved with standard insulation.
Sount Attenuation of 26 Dncw - 42 Dncw.*

Joggled Tegular range offers the designer a low cost option where a smooth aesthetic is required. The small recess on the tile edge allows the tile to sit flush with a standard 24mm wide exposed grid system creating a smooth, semi-monolithic appearance to the ceiling membrane. The system utilises standard exposed grid components which can be quickly installed thus providing a very effective and economical solution.
Tiles can be accessed without the use of special tools, so reducing potential damage and time during system access.

pdfPivot Tegular
- Rebated Modular tile laid into an exposed T-Grid.
The patented Pivot Tegular system is unique to Burgess. The system is a development of the 40dB Flush Tegular range with the added benefit of both tile and acoustic inlay retention by permanent attachment within an easily demountable suspension system. Pivot Tegular provides a smooth modular aesthetic, and combines simple retained accessibility with excellent acoustic performance.
The 16mm deep tiles integrate with our SRA board/15 insert, and are supported from our 25mm wide 50mm deep solid extruded grid system. The tiles have specially engineered side flanges that locate into the grid during access. The grid system is very robust and individual cross noggins can be easily removed thanks to the patented 'twist-out' feature. Furthermore, the grid can be offered with a continuous M6 thread detail for easy partition integration.

The Pivot Tegular range is an ideal solution for highspec office developments where there is a desire to have a low maintenance system with a smooth modular look and high acoustic integrity.
Suspension system. Tiles to be supported by the Burgess 25 x 16mm extruded tee grid system with ‘twist-out’ feature to enable cross noggins to be removed insitu, incorporating optional continuous M6 thread detail, supported at 1200mm maximum centres by rigid angle or wire hangers.
Perimeter Trim - Extruded aluminium perimeter channel trim, ref: ET181, colour Ral 9010 20% gloss.

Tiles supplied to integrate with SRA/15 high performance acoustic insert, realising 41 Dn,c,w and NRC 0.65
Tiles can be accessed without the use of special tools and pivot from gridwork, so reducing damage and cost during access and maintenance.
Tile has special cut-away flanges, which means that the effective access zone is just 90mm.
Gridwork manufactured as an extra-deep solid extrusion, affording a very rigid structure with the ability to support large panel sizes up to 2800mm long.
Gridwork has patented ‘Twist-Out’ feature enabling maximum access to void-located services.
Gridwork can be supplied with continuous M6 thread detail to allow simple partition integration.

pdfFlat Lay-in
- The term lay-in refers to tiles that have minimal tile face coverage by the supporting exposed grid as distinct from lay-on tiles where the face of the tile is fully visible.
Lay-in tiles are used with exposed grid table usually 24/15mm wide although different grid table widths are available.
These can be supplied in a range of standard sizes shown below or tailor made to suit a particular application.
Where lay-in perforated tiles are required it is recommended that the supported edges of the tile are perforated and the un-supported edges (usually the long sides) have plain borders. This arrangement provides the appearance of a plain border edged tiled ceiling with the exposed table grid providing the border on the supported edges.
The grid is supported by GT114 hangers at 1200mm maximum centres in both directions.

pdfCrosslock 15/16 system
is a patented aluminium exposed grid system that offers many advantages.
The system has been designed to support 16mm deep tegular tiles whilst also providing an uninterrupted central groove that will receive 6mm threaded bolts for partition head fixing. The system is unique in that it also accommodates the same M6 threaded groove along both sides of the aluminium body to facilitate mechanical fixing of trimming items such as plasterboard support.
The Crosslock 15/16 will accommodate a variety of standard tile sizes but can also be tailor made to suit special tile sizes to conform with window mullion spacing or specific project needs.
